Technical SEO Specialist

Carnegie Dartlet is looking for a Technical SEO Specialist to assist our higher education clients in understanding SEO best practices and consult with them to make improvements on their websites. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and will be ready to lead client phone calls right away. They will have a strong understanding of technical SEO components, including title tags, meta descriptions, header tags, links, site speed, structured data, AMP, Javascript, CSS, and more. They will have experience working in the back end of various CMSs (including WordPress and Drupal) and feel comfortable troubleshooting issues with clients and guiding them in setting up metadata, redirects, canonical tags, and the like.

This position is based at our office in Westford, Massachusetts.

Responsibilities:

  • Running crawls of websites and identifying and prioritizing technical issues
  • Creating best practice guides and other resources to assist clients in understanding recommendations
  • Leading consulting calls and screen shares with clients, educating them on SEO best practices and how to fix issues in their CMSs
  • Identifying opportunities for technical enhancements such as structured data/schema and teaching clients how to implement these components
  • Analyzing user experience roadblocks on clients’ websites and making recommendations around navigation, site architecture, CRO, etc.
  • Creating website performance reports
  • Utilizing Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and SEMRush to drive technical SEO strategy

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2–3 years of experience with SEO
  • Experience working in Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Keyword Planner, and other keyword research tools
  • Excellent communication skills, including experience running client phone calls
  • Experience working in CMSs such as WordPress and Drupal
  • Experience working with a website crawler
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, project management, and time management skills

  • Experience in higher education marketing
  • Experience with SEMRush
