For Immediate Release—WESTFORD, MA, August 26, 2016—Carnegie Communications is excited to announce the winners of its annual scholarships.

This year’s $10,000 scholarship winner is Stephanie R. Hill, a freshman at Clemson University. She entered the scholarship contest simply by registering with Carnegie’s college search services, such as CollegeXpress.com.

“I greatly appreciate the scholarship,” Stephanie says. “It will definitely come in handy as I attend Clemson University to fulfill my life-long dream of becoming a nurse. It really means a lot to me, and I will forever be grateful!”

Carnegie is also thrilled to announce the winner of its annual $2,000 Community Service Scholarship for Multicultural Students: Alexandra Adriano, attending Purdue University to study international business. She was chosen from a competitive national applicant pool for her exemplary community involvement, particularly her leadership in the performing arts space.

“I’ve used CollegeXpress quite a bit as a senior, particularly for colleges and in search of scholarships, so it’s been a very big asset!” says Alexandra. “This scholarship will help me achieve my goals in ways I couldn’t have before, and I know that there are opportunities like that for everyone on the website and in the magazine.”

Carnegie has awarded scholarships every year since 1985. Overall, the company has given away nearly a million dollars.

“We are pleased to award these scholarships. They have been a core part of our mission since Carnegie was founded over 30 years ago,” said Carnegie Communications co-founder and CEO, Joe Moore. “Although we help students cut their college costs every day through our scholarship search tool, it’s gratifying to support these particular students in such a direct way.”

Carnegie’s scholarships are being awarded at a time when the average annual tuition hovers around $9,000 at public universities and $32,000 at private colleges, which does not include room, board, and other expenses.

In addition to its annual scholarships, Carnegie conducts a monthly $500 Refer-A-Friend giveaway as well, bringing its current annual giving to $18,000.
