COVID-19 High School Seniors Survey Full Report

Uncertainty is inevitable in the time of COVID-19, but as we rally to make strategic choices and support young people going to college, information directly from the source can help. And the source is ready to talk.

“Honestly, as a senior in high school right now, it probably sounds selfish, but all I can think of is how much this sucks for the graduating class of 2020.” ~ female survey respondent, West Coast

Carnegie Dartlet sampled high school seniors across the country who use our CollegeXpress platform. In less than two days, we received 4,848 completed surveys.

The report includes information on:

  • Concern about the outbreak
  • Potential delays to education
  • Commitment date needs
  • Financial anxiety felt
  • Closed campus tours and the impact on college choice
  • Communication needs
  • And more

All the information was analyzed for differences between key demographic groups.

This is our first major survey report on the COVID-19 situation. Next week we’ll have results for a similar survey of current college students, first-year to seniors, about the impact of the outbreak and how colleges can best retain their students. Stay tuned as we continue to provide as much information as we can in an uncertain time.
